High: 64.0
Low: 44.2
Mostly Cloudy, rain in the morning
Tasks
- Went to two plant sales: FBGC and WNC Farmer's Market. Got a few things:
- Perennial sunflower from Blue Briar
- Earliglow strawberry starts (5)
- Big leaf aster (2)
- Yacon
- Mayapple (2)
- Garden phlox
- Sochan
- Early Girl tomato (2)
- Planted the two viburnums along the back fence
- Planted the five new strawberry starts
- Planted the Mayapple and Big Leaf Aster
- The $15 figs at Whole Foods were sold out!
- Made a connection with Bear Necessity Farm about figs
- Mowed the front yard (need to weed whack to get to the tough spots)
- Attempted to transplant/propagate what I think is a "Sweet William" that was growing on the westside bank
Ideas:
- Give the figs some liquid fertilizer on their next watering
- I'm intrigued by propagation and digging up plants, spreading their roots, etc. The Mayapples that I bought were in a container but were freshly uprooted. They were loose in the container. It was like someone just dug them up and put them in there this morning. I could do that. Also, the perennial sunflower I got from Blue Briar was propagated by root division.
