2023-03-22: Rain, but "warm"

Wednesday, March 22, 2023

High: 55.9
Low: 40.6
Rainy and cloudy

Observations
  • Nice to have a night that isn't freezing
  • Greenhouse figs looking sad :(
  • Grateful for the Weaverville municipality
  • Drove on Mag Sluder road -- Wow, beautiful looking farms and plant projects going on!
  • Still no sign of edamame
Tasks
  • Got 8 bags of leaf compost from the mulch yard
  • Picked up two new tools: a warren hoe and a garden axe-digger-thing
  • Started clearing space for a staircase down the bank. Dug up some gnarly roots
  • Del San Jaume Gran showing roots
  • Added moisture to all of the figpops that felt dry and aren't showing roots. I did this by submerging the bags (with small holes in them) into water for a few seconds. We'll see if that helps. Hopefully, I didn't ruin any chances of rooting.
  • Received ten 20g fabric bags and twenty 10g fabric bags
  • Ordered a weather station
  • Reached out to Josh about rhododenron, viburnum and sedum
Ideas
  • Transplant the seedlings into the covered raised bed.
  • Prepare holes for the persimmons, dwarf apple, goumi
