Monday, January 30, 2023 High: 57.3 Low: 42.7 Cloudy More progress on the greenhouse: put up the front, side, and rear braces, and got started on the ceiling. I've noticed some of the first batch of fig cuttings (which are quite large now) have a few yellow leaves. From what I understand, this indicates either overwatering or a lack of phosphorus. There also hasn't been much sunshine in the past few days. I think I need to fertilize them, so I put a dash of the miracle-gro organics fertilizer and mixed it into the top layer of soil. I will give them water tomorrow and continue to monitor them. Some of them actually started to poke out in places where fruit will grow. I haven't made a video in a while. I'm thinking of doing an informal one, talking about the winter project we've been working on: hinged raised beds, a greenhouse, indoor fig propagation, and the closet grow room.
Tuesday, December 27, 2022 High: 47 Low: 22 Partly Cloudy Home repair day: busted copper pipe from the freeze, and kitchen sink installation (part 1 of ?) The trees and plants look fine. I didn't see any frost damage on the figs in the crawl space. Things have been quiet, it seems. I did notice some of the paw paw branches seem to have been missing on the two closest to the deer netting fence.
Saturday, April 29, 2023 High: 75.0 Low: 48.7 Mostly sunny Tasks Went to a plant sale in Weaverville that I found from signs on the street. They only had peppers and tomatoes, but I had a nice conversation with the woman there. She recommended connecting with ASAP if I wanted to sell produce or do anything farm/business related. Moved the fig cuttings back to the windowsill Pulled some weeds (Bermuda grass) Harvested all the spinach and cooked it (yum) Planted some bell peppers (unknown because of lazy labeling by yours truly), and determinate tomatoes (Roma and tiny tim) from the plant sale. Two of the tiny Tim's are in the East bed with the edamame, and the others are in the covered raised bed, where the spinach was. Chopped and dropped some comfrey around the pears. The comfrey patch is going nuts, so I gave it a little trim. Trimmed off some of the cold-damaged foliage on the potatoes. I left some as-is, so we'll see what happens. We are supposed to get some lows in the low
